Welcome to Lost World Valley

Overlooked by the dramatic mountains of World Heritage listed Lamington National Park and punctuated by the chill rock pools of the Upper Albert River and Christmas Creek; the Lost World Valley - one and a half hours south of Brisbane - provides an invigorating escape from the mundane.

Here at the wilderness end of Lamington Park, a variety of romantic cottages and farmstays offer warm comfort at the end of an adventurous day in the outdoors.

Enjoy

A well established cooking school explores wild food in fusion with compatible cuisines and after the heat of the kitchen, the chill and tumble of the rock pools is waiting.

Arts in the Olives Festival 2010

Planning is under way for the third annual Arts in the Olives Festival in the scenic Lost World Valley just 90 minutes from Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

The date set for this event is Mothers Day May 9th 2010 and it offers an ideal opportunity for a family celebration. Click here to go to the Lost World Valley Event Calendar.

The festival is comprised of Arts workshops in a variety of disciplines such as basketry, blacksmithing, felting, horning, pottery, mosaics – fourteen in total.

There is also a fly fishing workshop for enthusiasts!

Workshops are conducted by expert tutors and participants are often amazed at the beauty of their creations.

This year we are blogging information about the workshops - so to answer all your questions in a one stop shop please go to our blog site http://artsintheolives.wordpress.com/

The festival also offers an excellent music programme and song writing workshop, as well as gourmet food and wine tasting and a wonderful variety of artisan stalls offering beautiful handcrafted goods.

The venue is the pretty Worendo Olive Grove which spans the headwaters of the pristine Albert River.  Children love this place and there is a choice of free workshops to keep them happy.

Where the Razor's Edge sheers up
And the Albert prattles down
There's an in-between
Where the grass is green
And a world is lost and found
